“You like it?”
Colton stood just inside the doorway, watching as Memphis dragged his long, pale fingers over the items laid out carefully for him on the guest bed. It was a whole outfit, holiday-themed of course, and perfectly suitable — Colton hoped, anyway — for your average nervous gay first time with the boy next door sleepover.
It was all there, laid out from top to bottom, from a gaily knit Santa cap with a fuzzy white ball, to a cozy, powder blue T-shirt with a frozen Frosty the Snowman dead center to reindeer-covered boxer shorts all the way down to Santa crew socks and a pair of jolly green Grinch slippers.
Seeing it thus assembled, with Memphis continuing to caress each collar and waistband, made Colton fear he might have gone just a tad overboard — and then some.
Memphis turned toward him, an unabashed smile lighting up his face as brightly as a newlywed’s first Christmas tree.
“I absolutely love it all, Colton! But… did you forget something?”
Colton struggled not to be offended. Forget something? He’d been to no less than a dozen stores since Paula’s suggestion the day before, and then a dozen more after forgetting half the stuff he’d planned on getting the first time around! If he’d forgotten something, it was how to eat, drink and sleep anything but handsome, sexy, smooth-ass Memphis!
Then Memphis gave him a merry little wink as he absently fiddled with the soft fuzzy ball on his Santa hat. Colton softened somewhat as he asked, “Like what?”
Memphis rolled his eyes. “No ugly Christmas sweater, duh?”
Colton moved closer to the bed, grazing his young guest’s hip as he idly caressed a pair of cotton boxers with reindeer all over them.
“I didn’t want you to feel like tonight was work, you know? So I wanted to get you everything but an ugly Christmas sweater.”
Memphis smiled, a fragile line across his rich, full lips. He turned to Colton with moist eyes and gently squeezed his hand.
“That’s… really thoughtful, actually. I don’t want to feel like I’m at work tonight, either.”
Colton felt a weight lifted from his chest. He’d been so nervous about Memphis coming in the first place and, if he did come, liking his “presents,” such as they were.
“If you’re ready,” he said, squeezing his guest’s hand back with a renewed sense of purpose. “I can help you change into them.”
Memphis’ eyes widened involuntarily, almost… disappointedly. “All of them?”
Colton nodded, so overwhelmed with looming anticipation he was finding it hard to breathe. “The more I put on you, Memphis, the more I get to take off.”
Memphis fairly shuddered, eyelids fluttering adorably as he swallowed, hard, before merely nodding. “I think… I think I’d like the sound of that, Colton.”
Colton chuckled, leaning in for another adoring kiss. “Good,” he murmured afterward, gently grazing his lover’s ear as he whispered playfully, “Because to dress you, first I have to… undress you.”
